Nothing about us, without us

Breaking communication barriers.Building dignity, rights & opportunity.

Welcome

Community-led. Sign-language accessible. Rights-based.

At KUYODA, we believe no child, woman or young person should be left behind because they cannot hear, speak or access information in a language they understand. Since 2015, we have worked from within the community to remove communication barriers and support Deaf and non-speaking people to participate fully in family, school, health, protection and community life.

We are rooted in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement and surrounding host communities in Kyegegwa District, where many Deaf and non-speaking children and youth face exclusion from education, health information, protection services and public decision-making.

Our impact

A decade of Deaf-led change in Kyegegwa
