Rights
Dignity, protection, disability rights, safeguarding and participation for Deaf and non-speaking people.
Kyaka United Youth Deaf Association (KUYODA) is a Deaf-led, women-led community organisation based in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement and Kyegegwa District, Uganda — advancing rights, health, livelihood and inclusive education through sign language and community leadership.

Welcome
At KUYODA, we believe no child, woman or young person should be left behind because they cannot hear, speak or access information in a language they understand. Since 2015, we have worked from within the community to remove communication barriers and support Deaf and non-speaking people to participate fully in family, school, health, protection and community life.
We are rooted in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement and surrounding host communities in Kyegegwa District, where many Deaf and non-speaking children and youth face exclusion from education, health information, protection services and public decision-making.

Our 4 interconnected programmes
Dignity, protection, disability rights, safeguarding and participation for Deaf and non-speaking people.
Accessible HIV, SRHR, SGBV, mental health information and referral support in sign language.
Skills, economic dignity, self-reliance and caregiver resilience for youth, women and families.
Inclusive, sign-language-based and play-based learning for Deaf and non-speaking children.

Our impact
From a small peer-support group in 2015, KUYODA has grown into a trusted community organisation running inclusive play hubs, training Deaf youth facilitators, and strengthening safeguarding, health and referral systems for Deaf and non-speaking people.
Partner with KUYODA to advance rights, health, livelihood and inclusive education for Deaf and non-speaking communities in Uganda.
